PT Kalimantan Prima Persada (KPP) received the predicate of Golden Flag from the Ministry of Labor and Transmigration (Kemenakertrans) for the second time in the implementation of Work Safety and Health Mangement System (SMK3). Kemenakertrans has determined two projects of KPP to once again receive golden flags, i.e. KPP Rantau Project and KPP Tanjung Alam Jaya Project. There was something different in this time's award, because Rantau Port Project (Hasnur Coal Terminal) received the same predicate. The Work Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) has been assessed for those three projects since April 2009 with satisfactory results.
SMK3 award was already granted on Thusrday, May 27th 2010 at Sahid Jaya Hotel - Jakarta directly by the Minister of Labor and Transmigration, Muhaimin Iskandar to three KPP's Project Managers. KPP once again recorded an achievement in the field of Work Health and Safety Management, as KPP Rantau Site & KPP Tanjung Alam Jaya Site already the predicate of golden flag in 2006

It was proven that the application of SMK3 has made employees more accurate, careful, and disciplined in working. It was reflected in the declining number of property damages up to 45% in year 2008 compared to that of year 2009. Therefore, in order to improve the company's performance, especially in terms of production quality for the KPP's taglines - The Pride of Quality, KPP prioritizes quality for the satisfaction of its customer. In addition, it turns out that the application of SMK3 could minimize damage and premature loss to the equipment.
SMK3 Awards were granted to three KPP's Project Managers (PM). The projects that received the said award were Rantau Port Project received by Mr. Daan Saputra as Rantau Port's PM, Rantau Mining Project received by Mr. Syafruddin as Rantau Mining's PM, and Tanjung Alam Jaya Mining Project received directly by Mr. Nalom as Tanjung Alam Jaya Mining's PM.
KPP as a coal mining company in the business field of contractor and mining developer and in accordance with KPP's vision, i.e. Safety, Health, and Environmental consciousness, is very aware of the importance of implementation of K3 Management System to protect employees and the company's assets as well as realizing the objectives put forth in the K3 Policies, i.e. zero fatal injuries and minimizing Lost Time Injury/LTI.
Beside award for K3 Management System, KPP also ever received zero accident award of South Kalimantan Province in September 2009 directly delivery by the Minister of Labor and Transmigration in Jakarta. May these awards be able to motivate to improve its performance in the field of K3 to support increasingly developing business development. |
